Cautious attitudes adopted by the buyers during the last several sessions, pushed the prices on the grain market on Monday, dealers said. Continued rise in the prices of most of the commodities kept the retailers sidelined, they were not ready to oblige the sellers at the higher rates, they said.
On the cereals side, Moong Punjab quoted higher at Rs 3250-3375, Masoor from Australia low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 7500 while the better type did not move any side at Rs 8000, masoor from Canada low type also lost the same amount at the same level and good quality also maintained the week-end level, Urad from Burma was down by Rs 75 to Rs 1625-1725, they said.
The wheat old and new both types gained Rs 100 to Rs 1900-1915, they said. Sugar low type gained Rs 100 to Rs 2100 and better type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 2500, gur gained Rs 100 to Rs 1700 while the good quality maintained the last level, they said.
The feature of the day was no any decline on the grams side, as all types maintained the weakend levels, they added. A solo deal was seen on the seed side where cottonseed oilcakes low type was lower by Rs 30 to Rs 670 and good quality also fell by Rs 23 to Rs 675 in process of lean business, they said.
