Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa has said the government has decided to start next academic year from April 01, 2009. He disclosed this while talking to lawyers in the bar room at district courts here on Tuesday. Bar President Malik Saleem Advocate, Vice President Majid Amjad Pathan and Khalid Abdullah Changwani advocates apprised the chief minister of their problems.
The provincial government after detailed discussion has decided to start the next academic year from April 01,2009. The Chief Minister said that uniform policy of load shedding would be adopted for big and small cities and for this purpose the Water and Power Ministry would be consulted.
On lawyers' demand, Khosa said that necessary steps would be taken for lawyers' colony in D G Khan. He said that the Punjab government was taking all necessary measures to provide relief to the common man and the problems of people would be resolved on priority basis.
Meanwhile, Qadir Bakhsh Muhammadi and central secretary general Ahle-Hadith Hafiz Abdul Kareem hosted separate receptions in the honour of Chief Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa. Sardar Zulifqar Ali Khan Khosa, the father of chief minister and notables of the city were also present.
Addressing the receptions, Chief Minister said that Rs 230 million would be spent on the provision of clean drinking water for citizen and various development schemes would be executed in D G Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Layyah districts to bring them at par with developed areas.
