LPG Distributors Association Pakistan chairman and FPCCI Standing Committee for Petroleum and Gas senior vice chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said on Tuesday that after rising trend of petroleum gas from Iran that has reduced LPG sale in the local market by 60 percent, several marketing companies, within one month period, have raised the price of 11.8kg LPG cylinder by Rs 15-20 to Rs 520-530.
In a statement on Tuesday, he said smuggled LPG was now being sold at Rs 38 to 40 per kg while locally produced LPG sold at Rs 47-47 a kg in Karachi, Rs 47-48 in Lahore and Rs 50-51 in northern areas. He asked producers to withdraw temporary rebate and instead reduce LPG price to Rs 25,000 a ton.
