Sindh National Front (SNF), Chairman, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has said that his party would announce its candidate to contest the by-election in NA-207 constituency soon after the new schedule for the polls is notified.
"We will not leave our ancestral constituency open for the Zardaris who could hardly secure 1,500 votes in their home town in 1985 elections and were defeated," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mumtaz Bhutto said that Sindh was the single constituency when the British rulers lifted ban on politics in the subcontinent and his uncle Sardar Wahid Bux Bhutto was elected to central assembly in Delhi. After his death at the age of 33, my father Nawab Nabi Bux Khan was elected with majority and remained the member of central assembly till creation of Pakistan and later won elections from Ratodero-Miro Khan-Shahdadkot constituency many times, he added.
He said that this constituency was later given to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto from where Shaheed Benazir also won the elections. "Me and my son Ameer Bux also contested and won polls from the same area.
