The District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) of Lahore has decided to register all rickshaws running on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and 4-kilogramme LPG cylinders will be provided to them, said a meeting of representatives of LPG companies, distributors, rickshaw union and district officers.
District Co-ordination Officer Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta chairing the meeting on Friday set up a five-member committee headed by Environment District Officer Tariq Zamam to determine the standard of the LPG cylinder and its price.
He instructed concerned officials to formulate proposals to set up LPG filling stations in the city and its rules and regulations. He said the proposed LPG stations run on the pattern of petrol/CNG stations. The DCO warned that after the distribution of 4-kg cylinders, if any one found guilty of illegally decanting LPG cylinder, stern action would be taken against them.
