Leader of PML-Q forward block in Punjab Assembly, Najaf Sial, and a former federal minister, Ghulam Muhammad Ahmed Manika, held separate meetings with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani here on Sunday, wherein they discussed overall political situation of the country and other important matters.
Najaf discussed with the Prime Minister the emerging situation in the wake of non-restoration of judges. He assured the Prime Minister of full support of the block and said that they would work side by side with the democratic forces because they were elected not for their own interest but to resolve the problems of the people.
Sources said that before his meeting with Gilani, Najaf had taken other members of block into confidence. The importance of forward block has increased in the current situation over the issue of judges, as no party is in a position to form government without its support. Political circles also gave importance to this meeting.
