DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has suspended Incharge Investigation Factory Area Inspector Haji Irashad Ahmed and Incharge Police Station Women Race Course Sub-Inspector Balqees Akhtahr on account of corruption and torturing a woman.
Both the officials have been arrested after registering cases against them under Police Order 2002 and other relevant law. As per details, a woman namely "F" informed DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera that she was second wife of Malik Abdul Rehman, a renowned businessman who was murdered in December 2007.
She further stated that she was implicated in the murder of her husband and both the officials kept her under investigation for 45 days and also tortured her. Later, they released her after getting Rs 3,50,000.
DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera directed SP CRO Jahanzaib Nazir Khan to hold an inquiry into the matter. The allegations were proved true during the course of inquiry. Keeping in view the inquiry report, the DIG immediately suspended both the officials and both were also arrested.
