The Awami National Party (ANP) is unhappy over the PML-N's decision to quit the coalition government just after six-week of its establishment. Talking to newsmen, ANP Information Secretary Zahid Khan said that his party fully believed in independence of judiciary, media, supremacy of the parliament, adding that the issue of judiciary should be resolved through Parliament.
Zahid Khan said that scores of ANP workers sacrificed their lives on May 12 in Karachi for independence of judiciary. He said the PML-N should not quit the alliance in this critical hour as the country was facing many other problems like energy crisis, law and order, price-hike, atta crisis, unemployment etc. "All these issues including judiciary can be resolved if the democratic forces are united," he said.
Zahid Khan said that the people gave their mandate on February 18 for resolution of their problems as the country is confronting with a host of other problems than restoration of judges. He said both the PPP and PML-N did not take ANP into confidence in the whole negotiation process about restoration of the judiciary. He said the ANP would play its due role for supremacy of Parliament, independence of judiciary and resolution of problems of common men.
