Rauf Siddiqui, Minister for Industries and Commerce inaugurated the International Plastic and Packaging Industry Exhibition and the International Food and Technology Exhibition. The exhibition began from 13th-16th May and organised by Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd.
Addressing the participants at the inaugural ceremony, Rauf Siddiqui said that government is keen to speed up the industrial growth and is planning policies which would have positive effects on the progress and prosperity of the country.
He further added that, Sindh economy reflects the strength and scope of Pakistan's economy and was of the view that the political situation will soon improve and so would not affect the economy if corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
Rauf Siddiqui appreciated the efforts of the organisers, Pegasus Consultancy and greatly appreciated such events, which provided the local industries to see latest machinery under one roof from all over the world.
Earlier, in his welcome address the Managing Director of Pegasus Consultancy; Aasim Siddiqui said that Pakistan is one of the largest producers of agro products, but most of the agriculture produce is wasted due to insufficient processing and packaging technologies.
Siddiqui highlighted the participation of around 150 companies from 15 countries including China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Pakistan, Switzerland, Thailand, UAE and UK as well as a country pavilion from Turkey. The exhibition creates the perfect international platform for introducing latest and affordable technologies in Plastic, Packaging and Food Processing sector, as well as to promote the image and culture of Pakistan.
The opening ceremony was largely attended by the representatives of the Russian, Indonesian, Kuwait, Iranian and French consulates, high profile industry professionals, exhibitors and local and international media.-PR
