DHA Lahore and Siemens Pakistan have signed a contract worth Rs 430 million for construction of an underground external electrification and street light system of DHA Sector K, L and Extension of Sector A, B, D, G & J Phase-V DHA Lahore Cantt. A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Phase-V sector on Wednesday.
Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Administrator DHA Lahore was chief guest to perform the groundbreaking. Colonel Saqib Mahmood Secy. Tech and Chief Engineer DHA Lahore, Nadir Riaz Divisional Director Siemens Pakistan, Usman Siddiqui DGM Siemens and other distinguish guests were also present on the occasion.
This project will be completed in 12 months with an estimated cost of Rs 430 million. Scope of work includes supply and installation of MV/LV Switchgear, PMT, HT/LT cables, lighting poles and fixtures and allied civil work. LESCO has already approved the project.
Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Administrator DHA Lahore said, "This agreement between DHA and Siemens is a testimony of our trust-based relationship with Siemens. He said that DHA is continuously trying to provide best available civic amenities and state of the art facilities to its residents and this contract of construction of underground external electrification and street light system is a sign of our commitment."
Divisional Director Siemens Nadir Riaz said, "Today is a historic day since Siemens and DHA enter into a partnership yet again and we undertake the earth breaking ceremony for construction of underground external electrification and lighting system of DHA Phase-V.
The business relationship of Siemens with DHA Lahore is not new, Siemens has been the pioneer in executing similar jobs and possesses strong credibility of several projects with DHA such as Underground electrification at Phase V, street lighting in Phase VI and UG electrification at Phase G extension. I am thankful to DHA Lahore for the confidence they have reposed in Siemens by selecting Siemens for this prestigious project."
He went on, "Siemens also plays an important role in serving community. Very recently we were awarded the 'CSR Award' for our programme 'Light for Life' which is an extensive programme providing solar energy for earthquake affected people of Azad Kashmir. We have already provided this facility to a village of 40 houses and rural health care and mother and child centres and we are now embarking to do the same in another village of 150 houses. We also award gold medals to top engineering students of the country and provide internships and apprenticeship facilities to young people."
