The Chairman on LPG, Zonal Standing Committee, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Irfan Khokhar has criticised the fresh rise in the price of liquefied petroleum gas urged the marketing companies to withdraw it forthwith.
He referred to the price of a domestic cylinder that took a lofty turn during last 15 days by Rs 55 and commercial cylinder by Rs 220 and termed it unprecedented in a statement issued on Thursday. Khokhar said that the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) producers had made a profit of 14 billion in last 17 months.
He, however, held the marketing companies responsible for the recent price hike and pointed out that producers had nothing to do with it. Further, the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Standing Committee Chairman urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to take note of the situation and exert pressure on the marketing companies to withdraw the extra price that had multiplied the miseries of the poor masses.
