Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal has expressed the hope that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) would get the judiciary issue resolved as the party has rendered un-matched sacrifices for the cause of democracy. PML-N was committed to restore judiciary to pre-November 3 position, he told private TV channel in an interview.
To a question, he said no one has created any obstacle in smooth functioning of the government. He said PML-N was ready to appoint PCO judges on ad-hoc basis to resolve the issue. About 30 days deadline, he said it was a unanimous decision. He added that PML-N was of the view that judges could be restored by an executive order of the Prime Minister.
He said his party has decided to sit on the treasury benches just for the sake of a stable democratic government. He said PML-N was morally bound to step down from their ministries after not meeting the deadline given for reinstatement of the deposed judges. "We were mandated for the restoration of judges and as we could not do it we had to pull out of the government," he said. He explained that pulling out of the government does not mean leaving the alliance. PML-N is still in alliance with PPP, he said.
