Customs Collector Fazal Yazdani Khan has said that talented and capable industrialists and exporters are playing an important role in strengthening the economy of the country by bringing a revolution in the promotion of industrial development.
Addressing the members of Young Entrepreneurs Organisation (YEO) here on Thursday, he said that after the decision of the Customs Advisory Committee, the young industrialists of YEO would soon be included in the committee. Referring to the installation of a scanner at the Faisalabad Dry Port, now the process of checking of the goods, both imported and exported, had become easier and saved a lot of time.
He praised the revolutionary steps taken by the YEO industrialists, and added the nation could be proud of the capabilities of young industrialists. He said that YEO had made laudable efforts for strengthening the national economy, besides promoting education and information technology, which would go a long way in achieving encouraging results.
Yazdani said that YEO was playing an effective role in bringing about revolutionary changes in the public sector. YEO President Syed Umar Nazar Hassan Shah, expressing his views, said that the YEO was proving to be very useful and effective platform in introducing modern ideologies to the masses.
He demanded early setting up of Customs Advisory Committee, and said that the same could provide each and every assistance to Faisalabad Dry Port for solving the problems being faced by the importers and exporters. He said that the useful proposal and suggestions of trade organisations should be properly utilised.
He assured the Customs Department of YEO's cooperation. He also demanded that the Faisalabad Customs Authority should be authorised to issue trans-shipment certificates on the pattern of Karachi so that the importers and exporters could save their precious time.
He said that with the installation of a scanner not only the checking of goods would be easier, but all the matters could also be handled in a proper manner. Besides the CEO President, Senior Vice-President Mohsin Cheema, Umar bin Saeed, Mohammad Tayyab, Imran Ghafoor Nazim, Sheikh Imran Fayyaz, Khurram Shafique, Ahsan Majeed, Shoaib Mukhtar, Zeeshan Ali Noorani, Mudassar Shahid, Aasim Shahzad, M. Shafi, Yasir Naseem Chaudhry and a large number of other members were also present on this occasion.
