More than 10,000 oil-tankers have observed strike on Thursday as a protest against an increase in the petroleum products and not increasing the freight for the last three years. Mir Yousaf Shahwani, chairman, All Pakistan Oil-Tankers Owners Association, said.
"We are protesting against the kidnapping, murder of oil-tanker drivers, not increasing the freight and depriving them of insurance facility." He said: "We have suspended the supply of high speed diesel, petrol, kerosene oil to upcountry from Mehmood Kot (Muzaffargarh Oil-Terminal) till acceptance of our demands."
The PSO was responsible for existing situation, he said, adding petrol and high speed diesel was not available at the petrol pumps since Tuesday night resultantly many vehicles have so far been off the roads.
