Punjab Auqaf Minister, Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi, has directed the officials concerned to produce within one week the detailed performance and expenses report of the last 5 years' Auqaf department to analyse the causes of loss of the department immediately, therefore the complaints can be redressed accordingly.
While presiding over the department briefing here on Thursday he ordered to probe into the complaints regarding the alleged 'qabza' on 16,500 kanal of Waqf land, leasing plot at Bund road for Patrol Pump and encroachments at Hanjarwal, Bhupatian, Shah Kamal, Bagarian and Shahdara and take stern action against the involved officials of the Auqaf Department.
He took a serious notice on certain complaints and ordered to immediately stop all the work on the Works Department of the Auqaf, adding to look into the matters of land of Auqaf Department in Dera Ghazi Khan and all other districts of Punjab.
Keeping in view the policy of "good governance" of the government, he said that new strategies would be evolved to follow all the laid down rules and regulations and no one would be allowed any out of turn benefit. Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi said that the principle of award and punishment would be strictly observed in the Auqaf department and officials would have to face the consequences, accordingly.
