Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Mir Sadiq Umrani on Friday assured the house that Dera Allah Yar-Hairdin road would be completed by December 2009. Speaking on a point of order during the assembly session here, he said that delay in completion of the project was due to unfavourable law and order situation.
He said, "Soon after assuming charge as minister, I directed the project director to remain present on the site and monitor the pace of work". He informed the house that the cost of the project would be reviewed after 100 percent increase in prices of the materials. Earlier, MPA Zahoor Hussein Khosa speaking in favour of his adjournment motion pointed out for not taking notice of delay being made in completion of the project.
The speaker disposed off the motion after it was not stressed upon. In his second motion, MPA Zahoor Hussein Khosa expressed concern over poor medical facilities in Jaffarabad district and more than 50 percent slash in Health Budget to the district.
Health Minister Ainullah Shams denied any slash in the budget and said that all the funds in the sector were being spent through the district government. He however, assured the house that the matter of slashing the health budget of the district would be investigated. After positive assurance from the minister concerned the speaker disposed off the motion.
