The Returning Officer PP-141 Lahore, after accepting the nomination papers of the President, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mian Shahbaz Sharif has allowed him contesting by-election from the constituency.
Earlier, Azhar Lodhi and Shahid Orakzai, in an objection petition filed against Shahbaz alleged that the PML-N leader, in a press conference in April 2007 at Sharif Medical Complex had made derogating remarks against the judiciary. They also alleged that Shahbaz was involved in the Supreme Court storming case therefore must be barred from contesting election.The Returning Officer had also accepted Shahbaz's nomination papers for PP -154.
