LDA orders testing of drinking water

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) DG Irfan Ali has instructed the concerned department to collect samples of drinking water from homes and send them for testing to independent labs to determine the level of contamination in it.
While addressing a meeting here on Monday, he said many people were complaining of polluted drinking water, thus it was imperative to satisfy the people by testing drinking water and tell them of actual position of Lahore water.
It was decided in the meeting that a team comprising representatives of Wasa, environment department and World Health Organisation (WHO) would collect water samples from homes to be tested in reputed labs, which would help them in providing clean water to the people.
