The second batch of relief goods from Pakistan is due in China on Tuesday for the affected people of May 12 devastated earthquake, said an embassy official. The two military aircraft carrying relief goods are due to land in Chengdu on May 20, the capital city of Sichuan Province that was badly affected by the tremor.
Earlier, two planes loaded with relief goods for the earthquake affectees arrived from Pakistan in Chengdu on last Friday. The goods comprised tents, medicines, plastic mats, bottled water, etc were received at the airport by Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu, Masood Akhtar who handed over the consignments to the senior officials of Sichuan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan's Charge D'Affairs here Abdul Salik Khan has presented Rs 90,000 as relief amount on behalf of the officers and staff of Pakistan Embassy to the Director General, Asia Affairs, Huzheng Yue.
Accompanied by senior officials of Pakistan Embassy including Counsellor Press and Culture, Muhammad Iftikhar Raja and First Secretary, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Salik Khan also expressed heartfelt sympathies on the loss of life and property in quake-hit districts of China.
