Horst Wackerbarth is a collector, he collects destinies. The central part of his life is, among other projects, works with the Red Couch. For more than a quarter of a century, he has been travelling the world with his sofa, which he places in the living environment of different people and portrays them.
Children and the elderly, poor and rich, celebrities and strangers, Nobel laureates in the ice desert of Alaska and the rainforest in South America, the cities of Europe and the village of Siberia have taken their seats on the Red Couch.
The aim is to create a portrait, a gallery of humanity. The red couch is the common denominator, the thread, the throne, the communication platform at the same.
The Red Couch brings all people on their feet!
