CDA to repair, replace streetlights and traffic signals

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to repair and replace streetlights and traffic signals at different avenues and highways of Islamabad with an estimated cost of Rs 39.28 million.
Talking to Business Recorder, sources said that Rs 1 million would be utilised for renovation and improvement of streetlights at Constitutional Avenue from Globe Chowk to PTV Chowk while Rs 2.743 million would be spent on repairing streetlights on Sawan Road, G-10.
The CDA has also decided to re-wind electricity transformers of 25 and 63 KVA installed at different locations with an estimated cost of Rs 2.20 million. "Signalisation of Nazimuddin Road, Fazl-e-Haque Road and Shaheed-e-Millat Road would cost Rs 2.69 million while Rs 3.34 million would be spent on renovation of streetlights in Sector I-8/1", sources informed.
Replacement of damaged traffic signals at IJ Principal Road would cost Rs 4.298 million while renovation of streetlight at Kashmir Highway at Pindora Chowk-Double Road would cost Rs 2 million and improvement of streetlights at Block B and D in G-9 would cost Rs 2.68 million.
Sources told this scribe that the authority would also spend Rs 2.88 million for improving streetlight system at Block A and C in Sector G-9/2, Rs 3 million on installation of streetlights at Katchnar Parks I-8/3, Rs 1.5 million on modernisation of traffic signal at Meraj Hotel G-9, Rs 1.97 million on renovation of streetlights at H-8 Graveyard while Rs 2.98 million would be spent on renovation of streetlights in Sector I-8/1 (Phase-II).
Renovation of existing streetlights at Aabpara market would cost Rs 1.12 million, renovation of streetlights at Hakeem Luqman Road, G-6 would cost Rs 1.192 million while renovation of streetlight at S/R West near 7th avenue G-6 portion (Service road Lal Qtr to Ambassador hotel) would cost Rs 1.38 million.
"The CDA would utilise Rs 1.18 million for installation of automatic streetlights at various locations in Sector G-5 (Diplomatic Enclave) and Rs 1.135 million for renovation of existing street lights at Bella Road, G-10", sources explained. Streetlights division of CDA has already invited tenders in this respect, the sources said.
