The Lahore High Court (LHC) has dealt with a string of identical petitions filed by the AFM enterprise and others and ordered the Food Department to settle their matters within three days and also directed to stop threatening them.
The petitioners argued that they were engaged in lawful business of procurement, refinement and supply of seed of different crops. They said the government had made it imperative for companies that before procurement of wheat seed, the crop must be examined by Deputy Director, Seed, Certification and Registration Department. They duly got acceptance and certification from the department and were running their legal business smoothly.
