Students, who were recruited under National Internship Programme (NIP) in different organisations, staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Tuesday.
During demonstration students demanded the government to release their stipend of five months immediately and also demanded the government to ensure their permanent employment in the organisations where they are about to complete their internship.
Students, who were holding placards and banners, chanting slogans against non-payment stipend and insecurity of jobs. It is worth mentioning here that one year back, some 80,000 students applied under the NIP and 31,000 students were selected as internees for different departments.
