A group project titled, "Novel drug therapy of silver nano particles to cure M.R.S.A. infections" by students from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, was displayed at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2008, held at Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The project won the first award by the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
This was announced by the Society for Science and the Public (SSP), in partnership with the Intel Foundation, at the Intel ISEF 2008 special awards ceremony. The winning team of the group project from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School comprised Arif Pyarali, Zahra Suleman Tejani and Sara Moez Ali.
Student winners are ninth through 12th graders who earned the right to compete by winning top prize at a local, regional, state or national science fairs. Special Awards are presented by nearly 70 scientific, professional and educational organisations and include scholarships, summer internships, book and equipment grants and scientific field trips. The ISEF is sponsored by Intel and has been administered by SSP since its inception in 1950.
