The School of Biological Sciences of Punjab University (PU) will organise a three-day international symposium on 'Glycoproteins in Health and Diseases' starting from May 27 to 29. PU sources informed Business Recorder the event is going to be a collaborated effort by the PU's School and Pakistan Academy of Sciences and Institute of Molecular Sciences and Bioinformatics.
More than 35 famous scientist from the US, UK, Switzerland, Iran and across Pakistan will present their research papers in the event. The theme of symposium is glycoproteins and glyconjugates that are ubiquitously distributed in the nature being implicated in important biological functions including immunology, energy resource, protection, lubrications, structural support, cell adhesion, molecular and cellular recognition, receptors for hormones and viruses, transcription factors, gene activation, cancer and immunological disorders.
