Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal has said that national reconciliation in the country is cry of the day and forging of unity is indispensable to get rid of dictatorship. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a medical camp set up by a local organisation here on Sunday, he said, "Speaker's role is like an elder brother and we will show tolerance and love for all."
Rana Iqbal assured, "I will run the house in accordance with the rule and regulations, and will not resort to any step contrary to the law." He desired that elected assemblies should complete their constitutional term and the parliamentarians, while honouring the public mandate, should formulate laws for public good and ensure merit in all departments.
Later the Speaker visited a private school run by Al-Akhyar Foundation and on this occasion, he said, "Children are our future builders and Allah Almighty blessed us with numerous gratuities and we must equip our kids with education to enable them to face the modern day challenges."
Today, he said, the importance of IT education and computer literacy could not be ignored and no country could progress without getting enough command over these sectors. The Speaker also stressed the need for religious upbringing of children besides imparting school education to them.The school Principal Amir Haroon and other teachers were also present.
