Indonesia's state marketing centre failed to sell 14,000 tonnes of crude palm oil it offered in an auction due to low bids, an official at the centre said on Wednesday. The centre, which sells crude palm oil from the state plantations, offered 3,000 tonnes free on board Belawan and another 3,000 tonnes of crude palm oil free on board Dumai.
It also offered 1,000 tonnes of crude palm oil free on board Kuala Tanjung, 2,000 tonnes of crude palm oil free on board Siak and 1,000 tonnes of the oil ex-factory West Sumatra. The centre also failed to sell 1,000 tonnes of vegetable oil ex-factory Jambi and 1,000 tonnes ex-factory Bengkulu and another 1,000 tonnes ex-factory East Kalimantan. It also offered 1,000 tonnes of the oil ex-factory West Kalimantan. Pacific Palmindo Industri was the highest bidder at 10,215 rupiah ($1.10) a kg for crude palm oil free on board Belawan.
