The Secretary, Schools Education, Nadim Ashraf in a meeting with the Executive District Officers (EDOs) on Monday, has urged them to ensure proper monitoring of the schools and fix at least two days in a week for the inspection of the educational institutions.
He also said the main focus of the government's policy was to raise the standard of education in the country and the EDOs should work hard to implement it and maintain discipline in the department. They should try to decrease mismanagement from their offices and create favourable environment for teachers with regard to resolution of their problems.
Ashraf asked the officers of the department to maintain close liaison with the educationists and teachers so that department can benefit from their services for formulation of curriculum and educational reforms. He further stated that teachers were the main pillars of education system and only their dedicated efforts may be result oriented.
The secretary also directed the EDOs to ensure their presence in their offices during prescribed period under the open door policy of Punjab government and pay sympathetic attention to the problems voiced by the teachers. Moreover, the EDOs should take necessary steps for the removal of encroachments in and around the schools, he added.
