The crisis of sunflower prices have occurred after the wheat prices crisis. The farmers have stopped the sale of sunflower after the sudden decline of Rs 200 per 40-kg in the price of sunflower. Moreover, due to non-purchasing of sunflower, the crop is going to rot after being placed in the open air.
Farmers have strongly protest against the severe crisis of sunflower rates and demanded of the government to stabilise the rates of sunflower, otherwise next year no farmer would sow the sunflower. They also said that they would stage a hunger camp before the Pakistan Oil Development Board.
The sources in the of Oil development Board said in this regard that there is no rates crisis of sunflower and if the farmers have any complain then they should file it in the office. They said that farmers should not sell their crop below Rs 1,600 per 40 kg.
