Peshawar Electric Supply Corporation (Pesco) on Tuesday appealed its all customers to extended their cooperation for the conservation of energy as decided by the government, that is in larger national interest to overcome the current energy crisis.
It is incumbent upon us to strive collectively for overcoming the load shedding and implement the federal cabinet directives in letter and spirit so that the duration of load shedding could be minimised, said a Pesco press release issued here on Tuesday.
However, the press release urged the customers to avoid lighting for Neon Signs/billboards, close all commercial shopping centres by 09.00 pm.
It, further, called for ceasing all types of commercial and business activities on Friday. Appoint energy managers in the establishments and entities, conserve energy by means of less consumption, especially, during the peak hours, from 07:00 pm to 11:00 pm and switch off all the streetlights alternatively, it added. The government has also put complete ban on using air conditioners from 08:00 am to 11:00 am in all government offices, therefore, heads of all departments are requested to strictly comply the directives.
Moreover, it stated that private organisations and offices are also requested to suit follow. However, the domestic consumers are also requested to use energy savers and tube lights instead of bulbs, and avoid using decorative lights on marriage ceremonies.
