Nike introduces latest weapon of the game
As Nike unveiled the new football Ordem V for the 2017-18 Premier League season, let’s have a quick view at the balls used in the league since 1992.
The Nike Ordem V football will be the Premier League's 2017-2018 ball, with it marking the manufacturer's 18th season as official ball supplier for the division.
The transition into the 21st century saw the Premier League move from Mitre to Nike as their ball supplier and they haven't looked back since.
The Mitre Pro Max was used between 1992-1995, before the Mitre Ultimax was introduced in 1995 and used for half a decade in the Premier League.
The Nike Geo Merlin then took over between 2000-2004, prior to the popular Nike T90 Aerow being brought in for four campaigns.
Nike then decided to reveal a new ball every season, with the Nike T90 Omni (2008-2009), Nike T90 Ascente (2009-2010), Nike T90 Tracer (2010-2011), Nike Seitiro (2011-2012), Nike Maxim (2012-2013), Nike Incyte (2013-2014), Nike Ordem 2 (2014-2015) and Nike Ordem 3 (2015-2016).
The Nike Ordem V will be available on Nike's official website starting June 5 and on the pitch at the start of the new season.
