A large number of clerks belonging to All Pakistan Clerks Association protested against the increasing prices of commodities in front of Governor House here on Thursday. The clerks led by their President Ashraf Nadeem Bhatti and General Secretary Hafiz Yaseen Zia on the occasion demanded of the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Secretary Punjab to regularise their colleagues.
The clerks demanded termination of contract system saying the system was detrimental to the interest of working class. The clerks also demanded increase in their pays saying that in view of the rising prices of daily use items the increase has become mandatory. Police scuffled with clerks during the rally.
