Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Punjab (WCCISP) convenor Samina Javed has said that Director Trade Organisation (DTO) should issue a certificate to WCCISP so that women could play their role in enhancing the exports by introducing the Pakistani products abroad.
She was talking to newsman on Thursday, accompanied by Ms Kausar Ishaq, Deputy Convenor and Hina Naqvi Secretary of WCCISP. They said that some mischievous elements were misusing the title of women chamber of commerce and industry to hoodwink the heads of departments, higher authorities of the government.
They said that they were serving the cause of thousands of women entrepreneurs under the umbrella of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), which had constituted a sub-committee to look after the affairs of women, entrepreneurs. Samina Javed said that government should include the suggestions & proposals of WCCISP in Trade Policy and Federal budget.
State bank should issue clear-cut instructions to banks to issue soft-loans with easy documentation to female investors, manufacturers and entrepreneurs, she added. She said that women were facing hardships in getting the loans from financial institutions and banks because they demand history of accounts and balance sheets.
How can we meet these requirements when we are going to start a new business? She was optimistic that future of women was not bleak and women of Southern Punjab would get maximum orders from the foreign buyers based on their unchallenging skill, and expertise. She further said that government should finance the female workers doing embroidery, knitting, and sewing at their homes so that they could stand on their own feet.
