Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President, Syed Zafar Ali Shah has said that Pakistan's defence budget has a special relationship with the regional situation.
Talking to private TV channel he said, although the entire world has assumed the shape of a global village and great emphasis is being laid on peace in the world, but despite all this, every country greatly focuses on its defence budget.
He said, they had strained relations with this neighbouring country. Also, there was tense situation on the northern border. In such a situation, the question arises in the mind of a common man that what was the need for a huge defence budget.
He said that Pakistan was also frontline state in war on terror, and so strong defence was the need of the hour. About the constitutional package, he said, "We have reviewed the constitutional package point by point in three days. We will finalise our report tomorrow after which the same will be sent to Mian Nawaz Sharif," he added.
He said that their demand of reinstating judges through an Executive Order has not been included in it. Nawaz Sharif has been firm on this demand before and after the elections and he is still committed to it, he added. Secondly, this demand is not only from PML-N, but was also from lawyer community, civil society and general public, he said.
