Flying Officer Syed Shamshad Hussain (Retd), a PAF hero and war veteran of 1971 war, who died in UAE the other day was laid to rest at PAF graveyard, Korangi Creek air base with full military honours. A large number of senior PAF serving and retired officers, all ranks of PAF, friends and peoples from different walks of life were present to pay homage to the war hero of 1971 war.
Earlier, his funeral prayers were held at PAF Base Faisal, where his body was flown on Thursday from UAE. Flying Officer Shamshad Hussain (Retd), who was an ACE Pilot of Pakistan Air Force flew several offensive and defensive combat missions in 1971 Pak-Indo War and shot down two Indian Air Force fighter aircraft in the aerial combat. For his heroic deeds he was awarded with gallantry award of Sitar-i-Jurrat.
