It is indeed very heartening to share the pleasure and pride of NUST R&D team on the occasion of Foundation-Stone Laying Ceremony of Technology Incubation Center (TIC). This pioneering initiative will boost the efforts of the university towards establishment of Technology Park in the same area.
Together, they will provide enabling environment to the faculty and students to see their research shaping into innovative products, processes and technologies. In fact, University-Industry linkages form a corner-stone of the need-based research at NUST designed to stimulate technology-based business activities and contribute towards economic growth of Pakistan.
In line with this vision, NUST has restructured its curriculum to suit the requirement of our industry and business. Subjects like entrepreneurship and management of projects, etc have been introduced into all engineering programs to inspire future engineers to attend to technology-based business.
Whereas I laud the efforts of the TIC management for what they have achieved in a short span of time, I would also like to urge them and the faculty to come up with more and more marketable projects which could be shared with our industrial partners. This is just a beginning, our aim should be to develop and promote NUST-branded products in the international market. I wish the researchers and TIC success in their earnest endeavours.
