Turkmenistan is allowing private citizens to connect to the Internet, in the latest sign that the reclusive nation is opening up to the world. The country's only Internet provider says it's been connecting up to 20 homes daily since the start of the week. Turkmentelekom said on Thursday there's a waiting list of 2,000 people.
Most Turkmens are desperately poor and it's unclear how many people will really be able to afford home Web connections.
