Thirteen people have died of heatstroke in southern Punjab in 24 hours since Sunday, according to health authorities. Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Javed Hassan Ajmi said on Monday. "At least 26 people have so far died of heat stroke in southern Punjab while 13 died during last 24 hours".
They were Muhammad Ramzan (60) in Muzaffargarh, Nasreen (41) Hanifan Bibi (45), Shah Muhammad (60) in Sahiwal. From Chak No 134 Muhammad Ali and Chak No 158 Baba Alam died in Chiniot. Muhammad Qasim (4), Anwar Bibi (70), and Aziz Ahmed (80) in Okara; Abdul Rashid Kaleem , Bashir Bibi (65), Ilamdin and Wali Muhammad (70) died in Faisalabad. Met office forecast dry and hot weather in Multan where maximum temperature was 45 degree Celsius, 47 degree Celsius in Lodhran and 45 C in Muzaffargarh.
