The judicial crisis should end as it is damaging the image and economy of the country. This was stated by Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a meeting at ICCI here on Monday. He said that the current unstable situation is hurting business activities because of agitation by the lawyers and civil society.
He said that the government should resolve the issue of judiciary on priority basis, which would stabilise country and restore confidence of foreign investors. "Pakistan is in crisis due to a number of factors, which should be urgently addressed by the government so that Pakistan can be put back on track for fast economic growth," he said, and added that judiciary and other crises were the factors responsible for the sluggish economic growth and declining exports. Ijaz said that businesses are directly linked to political stability, because due to agitation, law and order situation tarnishes the image abroad.
He said that international community is closely watching the judicial issue. Therefore, its early settlement would not only help build the confidence of international community but would also boost the morale of the local business community. He said that the coming budget should broadly focus on all areas of economy to accelerate the business activities.
