Senior Provincial Minister of NWFP Bashir Ahmed Bilour Monday reiterated NWFP government's resolve to take peace process forward with people of Swat. Talking to a private TV channel, he said NWFP government had reached Swat Peace Agreement with the backing of Asfand Yar Wali and Co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari.
The Senior Minister said, "we stand by the peace agreement with the people of Swat as we do not want bloodshed in the province." He said that after the peace agreement people of Swat were happy and feeling comfortable in improved law and order situation in the area. To a question, he said it was the responsibility of provincial government to maintain law and order and the government took a number of steps in this regard.
Meanwhile a spokesman of Awami National Party (ANP) Zahid Khan said: "we have started peace process with the people of Swat and it will continue". The provincial government is still holding dialogue with the people of Swat to make the peace process more effective, he added. To a question, he said some people are trying to sabotage the peace process for their own interest.
