NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani inspected the Provincial Institute for Teachers Education (PITE) at Charsadda Road and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Jamrud Road, Peshawar respectively on Monday and reviewed the training and educational facilities being offered by both the institutions.
The Governor went to PITE where he was briefed about the institution, since its inception almost 15 years back, has provided training to almost 30,000 teachers, teacher trainers, education and library managers as well as subject specialists both from the province and Fata. At present six different courses are in progress in the Institute. Apart from the nature of training being offered at the institute, the Governor also took keen interest in the educational and training materials.
He was further informed that the institution, being run under the aegis of provincial Education Department, is also efficiently inter-linked with various respective institutions and organisations including the universities as well as the boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education in the province to make its performance result-oriented in true spirit.
Besides the Central Office in Peshawar, it was added, PITE also has its ten outposts in different parts of the province where facilities of similar nature are being provided to the respective officials of the department, working under different cadres.
Meanwhile, the Governor went to different class-rooms, libraries as well as the video conferencing room and exchanged views with the under training teachers, teacher trainers and others. Provincial Secretary Education Shafiullah Khan and the Director of the Institute, Pir Badshah were also present.
Later on the Governor went to the Agricultural Training Institute, situated at Jamrud Road and inspected its various sections. The Governor took keen interest in working of the respective institutions. The Provincial Director General Agriculture and the Principal of the Institute told the Governor about working of the institutions.
