Britain has closed down its visa application centres in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir due to security concerns, an embassy statement said. "The Visa Application Centres (Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore & Mirpur will be temporarily closed until further notice due to local security concerns," the embassy statement said.
No further details about the security concerns were mentioned. Lawyers will march on Islamabad on Thursday to push for their demand to restore judges deposed by President Pervez Musharraf. The government has also announced two-day holidays in Islamabad on June 12 and 13.
