A reception was held to bid farewell to Jurgen Konig, Managing Director, Merck (Pvt) Ltd and to introduce Abdul Baqy Khan as the new Managing Director of Merck at Acropolis Halls, Clifton. The reception was hosted by Walter Zywottek, General Partner and member of the executive board of Merck KGaA, Germany who flew in especially for the occasion from Germany.
Jurgen Konig has been living in Pakistan for the last ten years with his family. His two sons were educated in local schools while his wife Ms Carolina, a translator by profession, taught languages at university and other local companies. Jurgon during his six and a half years with Merck implemented a bold and visionary programme of development.
