USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week. Net Upland sales of 434,700 running bales were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases reported for China (270,200 RB), Turkey (35,100 RB), Vietnam (26,600 RB), Indonesia (22,800 RB), and Thailand (18,900 RB), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (2,400 RB) and South Korea (900 RB).
Net sales of 88,100 RB for delivery in 2008/09 were primarily for China (47,400 RB), Indonesia (18,600 RB), Pakistan (10,400 RB), Turkey (5,200 RB), and Peru (3,000 RB). Exports of 308,500 RB were up 33 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.
