The Punjab provincial budget for the financial year 2008-09 will be presented in the Punjab Assembly on June 16, 2008 at 11:00 am, by Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira. He would also present Supplementary Budget for 2007-08. Muhammad Iqbal, Speaker of Punjab Assembly will chair the session. Notification in this regard was issued by Punjab Assembly on Saturday.
This will be the first budget of coalition government of PML-N and PPP, led by the new Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. During the tenure of the previous government, Hasnain Bhahdur Dareshak, Finance Minister, made a record in the history of budget presentation in the assembly by presenting five consecutive budgets.
APP adds: Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad has summoned the Provincial Assembly of Sindh to meet on June 16 at 5 P M here at Sindh Assembly building. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will present the budget of Sindh for fiscal 2008-09.
