Municipal bodies of all the four towns and two Tehsil Municipal Administrations of Shujabad and Jalalpur Pirwala of Multan district government have run out of money.
The municipal vehicles have not been running for the past four days due to unavailability of fuel while Mepco has also warned the Wasa to pay the electricity bill of Rs 50 million otherwise it would disconnect its water supply and disposal system, it has been learnt on Monday.
Sources told newsmen that vehicles belonging to the four towns of the city including Mumtazabad, Shershah and Bosan are not running, as there is no money available to meet fuel charges of the vehicles. The situation, they added has brought the municipal services including garbage disposal system to a halt in all the four towns. Nazim of Shah Rukn-e-Alam Town Rai Arif Mansab, however, denied the report saying there is a shortage of petrol in the city and not the money.
