A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed all the 13 applications for becoming party in the Sharif brothers' candidature case. The full bench comprising Justice Fazal-e-Miran Chouhan, Justice Hasnat Ahmad Khan and Justice Muhammad Ahsan Bhoon, on Friday resumed the hearing of the main petitions on ex-party basis against the candidature of both the PML-N leaders.
The court had ordered to serve admit notices to PML-N Chief Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and party President Shahbaz Sharif to appear before the court but according to the court's record they denied receiving the notices.
Speaker Punjab Assembly, Government of the Punjab, NGO Concerned Citizen of Pakistan (CCP) and Mehar Zafar Iqbal, the proposer of Nawaz Sharif from the constituency NA-123 Lahore had filed identical applications before the full bench to seek permission to become parties in the case. Khurram Shah, ex-rival candidate of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif from PP-48 Bhakkar and Noor Elahi, a rival candidate of Nawaz Sharif from NA-123 Lahore, had filed petitions seeking disqualification of both the PML-N leaders.
