Phutti price has touched a record high of Rs 2100 per 40 kilograms, market sources said Saturday. Chairman, Cotton Broker Forum Naseem Usman said that Phutti was selling at Rs 1600 to 1700 per 40 kg in the last season, but the new crop was selling at Rs 2100 per 40 kg, the highest ever in country's history.
He pointed out that both domestic and international cotton prices are high and this is the reason for the unprecedented hike in phutti price. Usman said small quantity of phutti has started arriving from lower parts of Sindh including Digri, Jhuddo and Naukot and Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Arifwala and Mian Chunno in Punjab.
