District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has vowed to promote sports activities with provision of all required facilities to sportsmen so that they could be able to take part in national and international sports events.
The District Nazim made such commitments while speaking as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of Taluka Nazim Latifabad Inter-Districts Football Tournament here at Mehboob Sports Ground, Latifabad on Saturday evening.
He said sports activities are essential in bringing healthy and cordial atmosphere and the district government is making all out efforts to provide maximum facilities to sportsmen of the district so that they could earn a good name for their home city by achieving success in national and international sports events.
For the last two and half years, he has informed that a number of national and international sports events were organised in Hyderabad aimed to provide opportunity to home players to learn more and polish themselves in their respective sports disciplines. The handing over Niaz Stadium to Pakistan Cricket Board was because of organising international level cricket in Hyderabad, said Kanwar Naveed Jamil, adding the district government is spending huge amount on maintenance of sports grounds for their youth.
He congratulated the organisers for organising inter-districts football tournament and assured the office-bearers of District Football Association of providing maximum facilities and financial assistance in organising football events in Hyderabad in future.
