Businessmen Panel has extended invitation to all major national and regional political parities for attending businessmen conventions to be held in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi to create consensus on national issues.
In the invitation letters, sent to the political parties' leadership, Businessmen Panel Chairman Tariq Sayeed and Co-Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik said the traders and businessmen of Pakistan were extremely worried over the worsening law and order situation and they decided to hold businessmen convention to provide a forum to the political leadership and other stakeholders to find a solution to the problems confronted with Pakistan.
The Businessmen Panel leaders want quick action from the government for improvement in law and order situation and make sure that business activities go in all parties of Pakistan smoothly. They also want implementation of the party manifesto by the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership to uphold its promises of facilitating the traders and businessmen to carry out economic activities in Pakistan without any fear.
They reminded PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari of his meeting with businessmen's delegation at Naudaro before the elections. Tariq Sayeed said the businessmen and traders had great expectations from the PPP-led coalition and wanted to see its government a success to deliver good to the nation.
Tariq Sayeed and Iftikhar Ali Malik had travelled to Naudero to see Asif Ali Zardari and offer Fateha for PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. The Businessmen Panel leaders will also like to bring to the notice of the political leadership the problems being faced by the traders and industrialists due to worsening law and order situation.
They have been demanding of the government to reverse its decision of increasing general sales tax (GST) and the condition of 35 percent cash margin on import of raw material for the industry. The government had increased GST on all types of imports from 15 to 16 percent, besides imposing a condition of 35 percent cash for opening letter of credit letter of credit (L/C) margin.
